Cryptococcus neoformans is an opportunistic fungal pathogen that can cause cryptococcal meningitis lung and skin infections, in immunocompromised individuals ^[1]. Cryptococcosis, caused by Cryptococcus spp., is one of the most common opportunistic infections among human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infected individuals ^[2]. Globally, almost 1 million new cases of cryptococcal meningitis are observed per year, with > 600,000 deaths ^[3].

This kit uses a specific monoclonal antibody against the Cryptococcus neoformans GXM and provides an effective test to monitor the susceptible population.
